Jennette McCurdy, former star of “iCarly” interviewed Caroline Miller for her podcast, “Empty Inside,” about how Caroline recovered from bulimia and has stayed in recovery for decades. They discuss the difficulties posed by “trigger warnings,” how Caroline managed to get into recovery at a time when few people thought it possible, and the problems of toxic mothers who are not invested in your health or happiness. They also discuss their views on the state of the eating disorder movement from the perspective of recovered adults, how they would change how eating disorders are discussed and treated, and what they wish they’d known when they were young and vulnerable to addiction.
