As coaches, we are tasked with working to help clients set goals, manage progress and accountability, and provide resources to be effective in achieving success. Not enough coaches are familiar with the science of goal-setting and the supporting evidence-based approaches to make this occur often enough, however, so come hear pioneering author Caroline Adams Miller describe how she learned how to put it all together to write the first evidence-based book on the science of goal-setting and its connection to the science of flourishing, “Creating Your Best Life.” She will share some of the most essential tools, theories and resources from her practice and Positive Psychology that have been found to be most helpful.
Join Caroline Adams Miller as she brings to light the concept and importance of “grit” – which she defines as “passion and perseverance in pursuit of long-term goals.” Caroline’s life work shares a theme – how do you set and accomplish huge, life-changing goals, and what character strengths can be helpful in doing so? In her talk, Caroline will be exploring what grit is and isn’t, why it matters for leading a truly fulfilling life, who has it, and how we can cultivate the behaviors that can foster this noteworthy strength. You will hear stories you’ve never heard before, the reasons why some people have grit and some people choose not to have it, and how we can help each other accomplish things we once thought were only reserved for exceptionally talented individuals.
Caroline Adams Miller is offering a six-hour virtual course to coaches and other professionals who can benefit from her unusual knowledge base and resources in this area, and who want to get 6.0 hours of continuing education credits for their participation.
